License applications are accepted Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9:00am to 3:00pm and Wednesday 1:00pm to 7:00pm. Applications are not accepted or processed on Saturday, Sunday and all Legal Holidays.

To qualify for a Concealed Handgun License in Ohio you must:
Be at least 21 years of age
Be an Ohio resident for at least 45 days
Be a resident of your home county for at least 30 days
Complete the required 12-hour course to obtain a Certificate of Competency
To obtain a Concealed Handgun License, first-time applicants must:
Be a resident of Hocking County or an adjacent county for 30 days and a resident of Ohio for 45 days
Fill out an application completely, including addresses dating back to age of 18
Attach a color photo (2”X2”, taken within last 30 days) to the applicationPresent valid, government issued ID (driver’s license, state ID card, passport)
Pass a criminal background check and mental competency check. Fingerprints will be electronically scanned
Have a Certificate of Competency or Prior Equivalent Documentation
Pay a non-refundable fee (cash, exact change only, or money order payable to the Hocking County Treasurer). Fee is $67 for applicants who have lived in Ohio for past 5 years, $91 for applicants who have lived in Ohio less than 5 years.
To renew a Concealed Handgun License, you must:
Be a resident of Hocking County or an adjacent county
Fill out an application completely, including addresses for last 5 years
Present your Concealed Handgun License and valid, government issued ID
Pay a $50 renewal fee
