Sheriff warns of break-ins

Hocking County Sheriff Lanny North is warning
residents — and especially cabin owners — to be on alert for possible
break-ins. “We’ve had 12 break-ins since last Thursday,” said North, adding that
most have been at cabins from Hide- Away-Hills to Laurelville. So far, the
crimes have been clustered on Rockstull Road, Buena Vista Road, Pole Ridge Road and state Route 180.
North said flat screen LCD televisions and DVRs comprise the bulk of the stolen items.

In addition to securing any homes or businesses, the sheriff offered a tip
to those living out in the county or owning rental cabins: record your
serial numbers. North said it is the best way for the sheriff ’s office to
match any stolen electronics to their owners.

Anyone with information about these crimes can call the Hocking County Sheriff ’s Office at 385-2131
